July 19, 200421 yr My '94 Loyale speedo indicates about 10 mph high across most of the speed range and at 55 is about 15 off. The speedo always indicates less than the real speed. This has been verified by GPS and another car with an accurate speedo. Car has an automatic and is 4WD. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what is the solution?
July 20, 200421 yr Tranny fluid in the speedo? Caused by a blown seal at the speedo cable and tranny connection.
July 27, 200421 yr Author wrong tyres? Nope. 165/80%13 which is identical to the 165SR13 factory tires.
July 27, 200421 yr Author Tranny fluid in the speedo? Caused by a blown seal at the speedo cable and tranny connection. Nope. Pulled the cable and it looks clean. Absolutely no oil from the transaxle in the cable.
July 27, 200421 yr Maybe the cable isnt interfacing the speedo guage itself properly? Might be 'slipping' now and then giving you that jumpiness. Since you know how far off it is I say drive on soldier
July 27, 200421 yr hmm... when i first got my 94 loyale it seemed like it did the same thing. i never verified it but when i thought i was going the speed limit everyone else seemed like they were going a lot slower... don't matter to me tho, i'd speed anyway.
