Petersubaru
can the ECU/Air,fuel Mass unit from a non-turbo car be used on a car equipped with a turbo, providing both cars are of the year
calebz
I believe that you might possibly be able to use MPFI parts, but definitely no on the SPFI parts. What year is your car. I have some spare stuff.
archemitis
early flapper style, mpfi, turbo or non turbo, same parts. later, hotwire maf, mpfi, same parts turbo or non turbo. i think the injectors and alot of the sensors are the same between the two different mafs, but the computer, isnt interchangable. so basicaly stick with the same style maf, and your sure to get the right parts, turbo or na. spfi... i think the water temp sensor is the same... thats about it. ogordon
could the computor become interchangable, for ex. between an 86 & 88 turbo when swapping distributors with it or is there more to it then being that simple hello, the ecu for the non turbo does not have provision for knock detector ,if turbo car has seperate kd unit you should be ok
archemitis
i just pulled identical computers out of a turbo xt, and a na xt with the flapper maf. i think they are all setup for turbos from the factory, on the early ones anyway. the computers will never swap, between the early and late, as far as i know, different disty, and maf, so different circuits inside.
