Going To Salt Lake City this weekend

Featured Replies

hey Shawn, if you want to, stop on by Laramie cause if its ok, I have some parts I can donate to the USMB like a gen 1 4-speed s/r from my Brat, driveshaft, and a bunch of other smaller items:D

Shawn,

I love to hook up, but I'm going to be out of town most of the weekend. I'll call and see where your at and when I'm leaving. I'll be in Heber City most of the weekend.

Talk to you later on...

If you want to meet up call my cell at 303-641-7947 and leave a message. Leaving tonight going up to I-80 and then West. Returning late Sunday night.
Whatcha heading there for? General Conference?

Sweet82, it is good to know there are people out there who know what/where Heber City is. I am from there and wish I was there, currently in Baltimore going to schoool, it must be beautiful this time of year. TMB

Good luck Shawn; that stretch of I-80 has got to be the most boring section of Interstate in the USA. Make sure you gas up often since gas stations are few and far between.

Try driving through Eastern Oregon on highway 20....wanna talk about boring? Its completely flat, straight, and hardly any buildings for like 60 miles...:-\

If I remember correctly there was a 125 stretch without gas or any other visible signs of life. I was starting to sweat when we finally saw a station out in the middle of nowhere.

what time are you leaving? I'll be heading east on I-80 at about 4-5pm. Look for a red brat may be i can meet ya on the way somewhere for soda or something.

Shawn, if your on I80 through California, you'll most likely pass my house. Lemme know if you are gonna be over this way.

Brian, I think you're quite a bit west of Salt Lake City, don't you think?

Where's Shawn?

I hooked up with Shawn on Saturday. The Blue Brat made the trip with no real problems. :headbang:

So once in SLC....what did we do....?

Went Junkyarding of course!

.....Till the phone rang and we were forced to go back to the better halves...

Shawn found the "holy grail".... ....a round clear dome light off an old DL. He was stoked.

As I understand it Shawn went camping on Antelope Island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. I tried to convince him to join us in the mountains just out side of Heber city and see the fall colors.

Give us a shout on the board, when you get back and let us know you returned home safe.

Home safe and tired. Brat has rolled over to 200k miles on this trip. Only real problem was caused by some bad gas we got at a Conoco/Loves Travel stop but once I topped off at the 1/2 tank mark the thing went like a bat outta hell again.

Top speed, 99.8 MPH as measured by my GPS unit. Needle was too buried to use anything else! This thing runs like its got 20k on it.
