i am going to put a new cv shaft in on the right side of my 1983 wagon but i would like to know what size is the axle nut thatnks guys

Isn't it like 36mm? I think they're different for ea81 and ea82 models as well. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

most are 36mm doesn't mater which body(ea81-ea82) i have only ran into one that was a 30mm autozone will loan either

Can't say for sure on the "mm" size. I have a 3/4" socket set here, and just grab the one that fits the best. Usually, they're the larger size, (which I can't re-call right now), but sometimes find a smaller one. Yet to find one 30mm though, I have that socket here..

36 mm on ea71, ea81, and ea82 on all of them that I've seen.

Remanufactured axles sometimes have cut-down and rethreaded ends. I got one that was 32mm, and they didn't supply new washer. IMO if you get a cut-down TAKE IT BACK!!!

36 MM and no more...no less. I would personally take the time and $ to invest in a proper 36MM socket...either 1/2 or 3/4 IMPACT socked. I got mine from NAPA, 1/2 drive...lasted thru the worst of abuse...lifetime warrenty too.
