Subject: '83 GL Wagon.

 

I'd like to have adjustable delay intermittent wipers. Presently, my wipers work fine on all settings including intermittent. Was there a "Super Deluxe" model EA81 that had that feature? Bigger question, are the switches interchangeable, providing for an easy swap?

 

I think I recall seeing some of the EA82's with this feature..if so, would those components be swappable to EA81?

 

I'm not interested in any of those aftermarket "add-on" type devices...trying to stay/look/work like stock.

I was looking into this for bobbrumby when my DMM died on me. Still waiting for it to be repaired, or the shop to buy me a new one.

 

All 3 of the BRATS had delay wipers. Believe switches are swappable. Found a relay in the circuit, just to the right of the fuse box, that could be the delay unit. Was at this point my meter died, so I didn't get any further in the investigation.

I'll have to check my Brat. I believe it intermittenly wipes the windshield and if so Zeno, I have an 81 Brat sitting here you could probably get it off of. If it is the same on the 81 of course.

the ea82 is not swappable, it goes on the dash

Later model GL-10s had them; both my '85 and '87 EA82t-wagons have them. Don't have any knowledge beyond. Sorry.
