October 21, 200421 yr what experience have you guys had with your clutches and where did you get them.....this is for the ea81 folks out there....thanks
October 21, 200421 yr well....in my turbo EA82 experience.... the stock 4wd clutch is good as long as it IS the OE one... NAPA Reman SUCKS big time. NO good for constant autocross launches and higher than stock power... The OE XT6 (NAPA NEW...but its just the same OE stuff in a NAPA box) is t3h bomb y0! Held up to everything Ive put it thru so far.
October 21, 200421 yr When it comes to the subie, I dont have too much experience with the clutch assembly. But.. Centerforce DF clutches are kickass on the Datsun Z cars.. and I found that they make a DF for the ea81 series soob.. so I should assume they would be similar. I have plans on installing one of those dual friction wonders in meh Brat when whats in there now wears out, or when I get the $9000 saved up for one of those 160hp engines from RAM.
October 21, 200421 yr How about those Ft. Wayne clutches sold on ebay? Has anyone had any experience with them? Klaus
October 21, 200421 yr i swear i replied to this post last nite. napa clutches are great, parts plus clutches are great, auto zone clutches are great. i have a xt mpfi motor in an ea81 car, and it breaks motor mounts all the time, but my $30 clutch from www.thepartsbin.com works great. never felt it slip. my pressure plate was ok, so all i bought was the disc. this may be a good option for you. this is one car company that actualy didnt skimp on the clutch design, like my toyota that burns a clutch disc a year(till i switched to a centerforce) pretty much any clutch you buy, will hold up to anything your ea81 can throw at it.
