Any knowledge of lifting blocks for front coils?

Looking to see if anyone here has ever used these.They were issued for use with the plows so the blade wouldn't bottom out.

 

I can probably just make some up if needed.Just looking to see who's actually had them and what they look like.I have to imagine that they fit over the round coils inbetween.

Autozone, Advance, whatever sells rubber donuts that you can put in between the coils. Same idea really.

doing it that way for a lift, will eat axles, and mess up the front camber pretty good.

is it kinda like the front lift screws on the strut, or something more? i have never seen them.

I have tried those in the rear on one of my old delivery wagons (Cavalier garbage car) cause it couldnt handle the load (300+ sunday newspapers). I found them to be a pain to put in and when you weren't running with a load and hit a pot hole they had a tendency to fly out.I used the adjustable spring helpers instead. They didnt ride as nice but they didnt go anywhere either.Plus you could raise or lower them easily when needed. Been thinking on getting a set for Bucky until I can put new rear shocks in him ..to get rid of the saggy rear ...you know us women dont like out rears to be saggin:brow: . Dont know how they would work on the front though..I would worry about what archemitis said.

The adjustable spring helpers are no good in the front. I tried using them. They don't leave enough clearance for the strut to turn with the wheels and knock on the inner fenders. This pushes them both to the outside of the strut, making the spring look like it's hanging really weird, probably isnt good for the spring at all.

I ran these on my last twagon and they did mess with the camber and roughly doubled the wear on my axles, 3 front axles in 7 months 15,000km. Struts went first though in 5 months. Compression dampner in the struts packed it in both sides. No problem with the rear axles that I knew of. I ran 3" rubber coil spacers up front 2" in the back with the preload maxed on the shocks. And big 13" tires.

I'm now installing the BYB 3" lift with 4" strut extensions like some of the aussie's are doing. 1" extrs stress on the struts shouldn't be too bad i hope, nothing like 3" lol.. Planning on using 8 spoke toyota rims with 29.5's. Tires are big $$$$ here , enviro taxe, tire tax, gst, pst. Socialism rules, when i get sick someday i might be thankfull.

 

If you've got access cheap struts and axles + don't mind the camber being a bit out \ / and wrenching every couple of months they work great.

 

You may get more lifespan, I drive the roads [dirt, very rough after a thaw] to the ski hill loaded with crap for my cabin, gear and or people. And I drive hard. :burnout:

Thanks guys....'n gal.THis application would be just for the winter while the plow is on.Slow riding,I might even just take the roads to and from work instead of the highway for a couple of exits.

 

The Brat won't be a keeper for me.At least right now I see it as a one season fun toy/money maker.
