November 19, 200421 yr my 87 gl 4wd wagon seems to cut out and loose power abouve about 3300rpm. I just gave it a tune up (plugs, wires, cap,rotor)- still doing it. any advice?
November 20, 200421 yr I'd suspect the coil. Before replacing the coil, make sure that the coil's tower is clean. Try running the car in the dark, to see if there's any high-voltage arcing.
November 20, 200421 yr Since it's an 87 4wd it no doubt is a carbed car. Classic symptom of a semiplugged fuel filter The one under the car back by the fuel pump. (Primary fuel filter, the under hood unit is a vapor separator) The one by the fuel pump is often neglected. Hope this helps
