89 Xt Awd Questions

Featured Replies

Hi there I found an 89 XT AWD today for sale that is in pretty rough shape. This car is an automatic with the non turbo EA82 that has an intake manifold like an EJ series engine. I was just wondering what a car like this is worth?? How much should I pay for it??

Please define "rough"? What all is wrong with it? Is it complete, just in bad shape? I found an 87, Turbo, that has been sitting with the windows down for several years...the interior is totaly toasted. The outside needs surface rust removal and painting. I offered $200...they want $400 cuz the engine, turbo, and tranny have like, under 10,000 miles on them. This is but one example.

Is that spider intake similar to the turbo version?

Price depends on whether it's repairable or as parts car and how bad you need/want it. Rough Subarus are very plantiful right now, around here anyway. They are way cheaper than they were even a year ago.

You didn't mention if it run and is driveable?

I say go elsewhere. You're in Oregon, there should be dozens of good-condition XT's around there. I bought mine in simply PRISTINE condition in Florida of all places, where Subarus are as rare as Ferraris...

This thing is running/driving, The drivers side window has been down for 6 months, the molding around drivers window is gone, 1 headlight is half way up!! I just thought this would be cool for a motor swap into a regular ea82 car!!
