what tyres for my 14x6 Sunraysia's

Featured Replies

I have a 89 Brumby ute. It came with 14x6 Sunraysia wheels with low profile tyres to keep the speedo in (which it isn't anyway, about 9kph out at 60kph) I want to get some bigger tyres for it for off-roading, but they also need to be good for on-road driving. The Brumby has an 2" lift kit so It should be able to take some fair sized tyres I thought. I will need to do some work on the mud flaps as they will only take an extra 2inch bigger tyres . What size of tyres should I get for off-road and on-road? Also to make the car look meaner then it already does. :D

I think you'd have clearance for anything in the 25-26" range. All Terrain tires would work. It's a matter of preference on top of that.

Not sure if Cooper has any distributors there in Aus, but you might wnat to look into getting a set of Cooper Discoverer STT's. I have a set in 215/75R14 and they're great! 26.1" in diameter, a real agreesive mud-terrain pattern but still relativly quiet on the road.

BF goodrich makes an all terain in a 14" rim size. they are fairly aggesive, good in the mud, snow rocks, have a three ply side wall and are very good on pavment. Oh yea, you should be able to grt 40-50,000 miles out of a set.

235/75/R14 !_!

And dont be scared to cut them fenders :brow:

sorry. Wouldn't 235 be a little wide. It is a good idea to have skinny tyres for cutting thru the soft stuff down to the hard stuff. Well thats what the WRC drivers do anyway. Mmm, need rollcage and STi 2.5L... Thanks for your help.
