Accident at Colorado Meet 1/22/04

You are lucky Dude! And a big AMEN goes out to the Man upstairs for your "walking away" from that.

Been awhile ago, but I rolled a car, doing abit faster than 20-25 mind you. They had to cut me out of the hulk of twisted metal. Roof line closely matched what is left of yours. Was told that "if I had been wearing a seatbelt, or had a passenger, chances are, we wouldn't of made it". I wound up in the rear seat area of the car, got 4 stiches "inside" of my left ear from the DS top corner of the A-pillar slamming into the right-side of the back of the DS seat. That was as close to DEAD as you can get... Was the only injury I got out of it, besides being sore all over for a few days.

Truely is amazing as to the low speed required to roll a car over, or atleast get it in the condition of approaching the point of a roll-over. Drop-offs, embankments, don't help any, none what so ever. You are truely lucky...

Glad you're okay..........................

It still drives and runs, just needs oil, the rest of the body is crap though.

Thanks

Rick

Dam Dude! You are so luck, glad to hear you walked away from it!

Wow thats horrible. Glad your okay though. Sorry I couldn't make it guys. I was called into work at the last minute. There is an XT6 for sale in denver. It's a REAL fixer upper. But if you're desperate for one. Oh yeah and it's an auto too..such a drag. But it's at a hole in the wall dealership off of Santa Fe and Union. Something like advaced auto works.

just glad no one got hurt.

So where exactly was that anyway?

My father in law dumped his car somewhere off the side of the road on Berthoud pass a number of years ago.. it was a VW bug.. amazingly he lived.

Yeah, the tail light made it, but it got a nice crack in the one side, dang it! A 6 in Denver?? Really? What kind of work did it need?? I'll have to check it out! And this was at Red Rocks, by the ampitheater kinda. Berthoud Pass?!?!?!?!?!?! Dang! In a VW???!?!?!?! Crap, that's just crazy!

Thanks Guys

Rick

Sante Fe & Union, is it at that place just west of the nudie book store, on Union? I Go by that area 20 times a day running parts, I'll swing by tomorrow and have a glance at it too, see if it's still there. Sounds like all you really need, Turbo, is a decent body.....

seems to me that you need a convertible conversion kit

sure is good YOUR body did so well

eyesore, empty your PM BOX

Of all the times I have drove like a bat out of helll up to the top of red rocks...I always wondered if anyone went off the side. That is some steep sheeot! I'm glad you are ok.

Yeah, well I got a Wagon and I am putting my XT engine in it, so I'll have a car for a bit, then I am gonna go look at an XT6 today to see if I want it, and then see if he'll trade me for the wagon. I already did the convertible conversion, btw, so all I need is a cage welded onto it, and it will be cool! Next car I get is getting at least a 5 point harness on th driver's side and I might take the passenger seat out so I won't kill anyone if I crash again + I drop extra weight! And maybe a roll cage just over the seats so the roof won't cave in on my head...or maybe a full cage....whatever I have the dough for.

Wish me luck!

Rick
