sub4 heads Q

Featured Replies

Can you put the EA81 Sub4 heads onto an EA81T and use the turbo without much trouble?

thanks

You would have to modify the heads or intake to accept fuel injectors.

From the Sub4 website, it looks like you'd have to build a custom intake. All I saw were dual intakes for dual carbs and throttle-body injection.

Hopefully, "ramperf" will respond to this because I think he sells Sub4 stuff here in the US.

You will have to make a complete intake system but it can be done or you can send your heads to me and I can dual port them for you and build the manifold to accept your turbo, this is less money to do than just the sub4 heads. I also build new cams for this engine to take full advantage of the heads.

how much to dual port the intake and heads? dual port means a seperate port for each intake, or exhaust, or are you talking both?

and how much for a 130hp grinded cam? that's how much I'm aiming for. stock EA81T is 110hp, so I figure an increase in 20hp is a good aim.

You send your heads and the price is $995.00 to convert. This conversion is the intakes only but the exhaust is equalized and both are flowed. The intake is built for the flange of the throttle body you are using and flowed also for $555. The water provision and the injector bosses are extra.

The 130hp you saw was with a single carb not turbo. On my dyno with 8lbs boost our engine produced 200hp. This engine in stock configuration will n ot hold up to this and I had to install my forged pistons,ss valves, bronze stepped guides, roller rockers, extra dowlings in the mains, etc. So turn down the boost and enjoy.

ok, so say I wanted 200hp out of my EA81T engine. What's the total cost of all parts? (minus shipping) This might be something I will want to do.

jon, go to ramengines.com and look around. I think it would be better for you to look at a long block it will save your $ in the long run. my price for a turbo long block is $3795 Less $200 for your core if you care to trade it in. Plus the intake.I can price out all the parts for you, if you still want.
