August 26, 200322 yr Well.. after trying a few quick side of the road fixes, I had the TurboWagon towed home.. got out the FSM and the multimeter. Anyone cared for some Texas Fried ECU? Voltage in.. no voltage out . Decided to open the ECU and have a looksee.. Definite heat induced carnage on and around one of the resistors. And oooh that smell, gotta love the smell of burnt electronics. I may get out the soldering iron and attempt a repair, but the board around the resistor doesn't look too healthy. Bottom line is that I need a new ECU. Please see my post in the Market Place WTB 87 GL-10 Turbo ECU
August 26, 200322 yr The first lesson of electronics is that you never let the smoke out. I thought you guys knew that -- Mark

August 26, 200322 yr Author Yeah.. still need.. will PM you with address and stuff weird that you didn't get the email.. I clicked on the little email Icon at the bottom of your post.. Thanks
August 27, 200322 yr Before installing a new brian box, if possible, try to determine what that resistor is closest to in the circuit or wiring in the car. May have just been it's time, but if it's in line to an output somewhere in the car, one could smoke another. I know, tracing that down can be near impossible, but I would try and rest my mind that I think I know what it did. (Then with my luck, I would fry the next one. LOL )
