galenishman
Hello, I have an 88 subaru GL? 4WD sedan w/52,000 miles on it. Lately my auto trans has been acting up so I replaced the fluid and filter but to no avail.... The problem is when the car is in drive and you take of from a dead start the car will shift to 2nd gear and then shift to 3rd gear about 3 seconds later. It is in 3rd gear by 10-15mph. which then makes the trans slip. If I shift the car manually it sometimes shifts fairly solidly but sometimes it does slip a small amount between gears. Any Ideas????? All_talk
The early shift out may be a problem with the vacuum modulator (on vac line to it). The 3AT is also know for problems with the governor, try a search to see if any of your symptoms are similar to what other have seen.
