March 9, 200521 yr Thinking about setting up a get-together here in Western, MD this spring- summer for subie owners. We have a few trails in the area that would be really fun for groups to hit. Awesome camp grounds too .... would probably call it the 1st Annual Potomac Valley Subaru meet. Probably a two to three day event. Camping would probably be setup in Savage River State Park where two of the 'froad trails are.
March 9, 200521 yr We absolutely will be visiting our friends in Frederick,MD sometime before June.So,either way I'll be seeing a couple of you guys,hopefully.

March 10, 200521 yr where are there good trails? I'm in Northern VA and would like to know of some good trails within an hour or so. I've found a couple but not much of anything good.
March 10, 200521 yr Author Greenridge state forest has a 20 mile offroad trail .... Savage river has one inside the forest that is called poplar lick ... its about 3 miles in and 3 miles back..... a few small river crossings ..... then there is one in the town I grew up in called Nightengales trail ... all are located within allegany county, md except for the one on savage river - its located 10 miles from where I grew up ... in Garret Co. There is also Potomac State forest offroad trail, but I'm not sure how long it is or what the terrain is like. Lots more trails that are not state maintained. Could make out to be a really fun weekend .

THere's no off roading at Carlisle,but you'll want to roll your pants up anyways.
March 10, 200521 yr Author I may make it out there if my subie is done in time. I want to get the new motor in this month and tag and insure it. Next will come an olive drab paint job and a safari rack ....
