March 16, 200521 yr Due to a divorce settlement, I need to determine the value of a car as of a certain date, 3/01/2004 to be exact. I know that Kelley Blue Book or Edmonds will give me values based on current date but is there anywhere to research older dates?
March 16, 200521 yr Try to track down the 2004 edition of KBB? maybe a local libary? or an online bookstore?
March 16, 200521 yr Author Thanks for the suggestion but I was looking for a source that would be more specific i.e. the value of the car would be different in January than it would be the following December of the same year.
March 16, 200521 yr What you probably need is the NADA used car guide. Libraries usually carry a couple of years back issues. As I recall, there was a quarterly version that the libraries maintained on file and got rid of all the monthly updates. That should work for determining the value of the car at that point in time. Check out your local library and see what they have.
March 16, 200521 yr Check the library. Or try a salvage yard. Dealers have them, but some of those guys are weird about sharing them. The bank keeps a current one, but I bet they have them a year back as well. I'd try asking the bank where you do your banking and see if they can help.
