How do I remove ea81 oil pump.

Featured Replies

I am trying to change the seals in my oil pump.

Ca anyone give me an idiot's guide to removing my oil pump?

Specifically how many bolts to remove and where they are located.

Thanks.

if i remember right it is 4 bolts with 10mm heads. it is on the very front of the moter where the oil filter screws on

If you have removed all the bolts that seem to hold it in and yet it still won't come out of the engine case, do not twist it around excessively trying to get it to come free. Twisting might cause it to gaul(sp?) and become even more stuck. Instead, slightly loosen the nearest bolt holding the two halves of the engine case together and this should allow the oil pump to pop right out.

Becarefull!!!!!

Don't pry the pump to get it loose!!!

There is a flat plate that brakes easily and it's just under the oil pump.

yes be very careful i broke the back half of mine, cost was 61 bucks to replace
