I need 2 header gaskets and 2 inlet/outlet turbo gaskets, so off to the local suby dealership... the girl at the counter says it'll be $149.34 cdn for 2 header gaskets and another $50 for the turbo gaskets:eek:. I was shocked to say the least, the suby dealers 60miles away want $75 for all of them. I'm going with the dealership down island but whats a "reasonable" price to pay for these? I will most likely order another set to avoid any future extortion.

I think I paid around $15 each for the turbo gaskets (u/p and d/p), and $8 or $10 each for the turbo exhaust manifold gaskets from the dealer here in Vic. Lemme know if you want me to pick some up for you and send them on the bus.

kewl, how'd the turbo work out?

got one from the junker for a decent price and all's well. She's running great, although the new turbo has some minor cracking arouund the wastegate and I notice it doesn't boost quite as well.

 

Your header gaskets are normal OEM exhaust manifold gaskets for the TWE pipes aren't they?

 

I just called Saunders, and the prices are as follows:

$7.85 each for exhaust manifold

$8.85 for u/p turbo inlet

$10.95 for d/p turbo outlet

 

Quite the difference I'd say.

sounds like the parts person gave you the prices for the Head Gaskets, not the exhaust gaskets.

That's what I thought too but that wasn't the case, i phoned them back to be sure.

Yeah, I paid like $7 or so each for mine... Not to rob this thread, but heres a question... I recently did my exaust manifold gaskets, and now I need to pull the exaust again to do the O2.... Do I NEED new gaskets?

nah. Well if you manage to crack or break them then yes.

call the parts department at Carter Subaru (in Seattle,WA), and you could probably get them pretty cheap there too... I know they ship all around the world and gaskets should be pretty cheap to send to canada...
