I PUT COIL SPACERS IN THE FRONT OF MY 85 WAGON, ARE THESE OK.

I hope so because they gave me 2 inches of lift up front.

Mine never stayed in long enough to ruin any tires or axles. First time I went offroading with them in 75% of them were missing. Once the springs got fully extended they just fell right out :(

 

For a minor, cheap, lift you might consider the factory FHI Subaru lift :) 4WD Subarus came with adjustable suspension. You can crank in about 1.75" of lift. As noted above this is added strain on the axles but hey; gotta pay to play right? ;)
