March 28, 200521 yr I am considering getting a brat over a standard pick-up truck because I love Subaru! But I am not sure how big the bed is and need to make sure I can haul what I want in it. I have an Honda ATV 4-wheeler that will need to go in the back. Also is there hooks or tie downs stock in those things? GoatBoy Thanks all!
March 28, 200521 yr I say the bed size is SMALL If you have an older ATV you should be able to get it in the back no problem. The newer ATV's are getting big and heavy. It would certainly be a load if it would fit? Good luck Glenn, 82 SubaruHummer 01 Forester
March 28, 200521 yr Author Thanks. Yeah its a 99 Honda FourTrax 400ex. Its not the 4wd huge monster kinds so its not that heavy. I'm not worried about the weight jus the physical size. GoatBoy
March 28, 200521 yr I think you'd be hard pressed to fit it in a '81 (Gen1 Brat). possibly a Gen2 (82-87)... for Gen2: bed is 60" long, then add the tailgate (about 15-18" I think... there was a thread on this a ways back...) 37" between wheel wells. around 53" between bed sides (guessing) Gen1 bed is approx. 4" narrower. not sure of length diffs.... I'm thinking a 400 is gonna require something bigger than a Brat....
March 28, 200521 yr Author I think I might be okay. Its about 4 feet sqaure. So it will fit. I think. Besides its a Brat for $350....how could I pass it up? Hell, I could sell the canopy for $100 since I don't want it and it will be a Brat for $250. <evil laugh> GoatBoy Edit: ATV is 72 inches long by 45 inches wide
