  2. I think I might be okay. Its about 4 feet sqaure. So it will fit. I think. Besides its a Brat for $350....how could I pass it up? Hell, I could sell the canopy for $100 since I don't want it and it will be a Brat for $250. <evil laugh> GoatBoy Edit: ATV is 72 inches long by 45 inches wide
  3. Thanks. Yeah its a 99 Honda FourTrax 400ex. Its not the 4wd huge monster kinds so its not that heavy. I'm not worried about the weight jus the physical size. GoatBoy
  4. I am considering getting a brat over a standard pick-up truck because I love Subaru! But I am not sure how big the bed is and need to make sure I can haul what I want in it. I have an Honda ATV 4-wheeler that will need to go in the back. Also is there hooks or tie downs stock in those things? GoatBoy Thanks all!
  5. Thanks for all your responses guys. GoatBoy
  6. Thanks! I've never done them on a SUB before. Only Chev V8. So a set of Head gaskets, intake gaskets, and Cam o-ring huh? Who has the best deal on gaskets? Dealer? GoatBoy
  7. 1987 Turbo GL Need to replace the head gaskets. What Gaskets are needed for this? Need a new intake gasket set too or JUST the head gaskets? How hard is this to do? If I choose not to change the gaskets I might just part it out. GoatBoy
  8. Found the problem. Fusible link was burned out but not through the insulation. Local parts house don't have one. Is this a dealer only part? GoatBoy
  9. Which link protects what part. I'm colorblind so I am not sure of the colors anyway! GoatBoy
  10. Anyone know which fusible links go to what? There are 4 of them. 1986 GL10 Turbo 5 speed 4X4 Dealer only to get a new one? GoatBoy
  11. I hate electrical problems! Fuses are good. No burnt wires behind fuse block. Will the fusible links be burnt or visibly bad? I've never had to replace one on any of my cars.
  12. Hey all, 1986 GL10 Turbo 5 speed 4wd Someone had wired a auxillary temp gauge up because the facotry one quit working. When they did this they just rammed the power wire in the fuse block. Unfortunatley they jammed it in the wrong side of the fuse so it was not a fused circuit. Well went to go start the car and it smoke from the fuse block and burned the insulation off that wire to the temp guage. No the car has no power. The only things that work are the door dinger telling you the door is open and the hazard lights but only the passenger side ones. Any ideas here? Not even the headlights work, nothin. HELP PLEASE. This is not my car but my neighbors and they have kids and need to get this thing going again. Thanks all! GoatBoy
  13. Yeah. I guess I could call around and get some prices. I love going to the JY. GoatBoy
  14. What about having the radiator boiled or hot tanked. I've never had one done. Does it help at all or is it a waste of time and money. I am really strapped for cash and if that would work, it would be worth it to me. Any input on hot tanking a radiator? Thanks GoatBoy
  15. Thats pretty much what I expected to hear. Thanks Ed. I really am broke right now. I guess I will have to ride the motorcycle as much as possible, which needs work too. Well not work so much as tires and a new headlight bulb. But I will budget in a radiator where I can. What can I do to test the Water Pump? As far as I know, either they work or they don't. And if they don't, its hard to miss that it isn't working. Thanks GoatBoy
  16. Hello all. My 85 GL Wagon is getting a little too hot under the collar. I started with replacing the thermostat and upon popping off the housing to do the swap discovered that the thing didn't have a thermostat in it. So I put in a new Stant 185 degree thermostat. Well it still was overheating. So I bought a backflush kit and back flushed the cooling system and it is still overheating. This all just started a couple of weeks ago. Until then it was actually taking too long to heat up but now that I know it didn't have a thermostat in it to begin with it all makes sense why it didn't heat up very fast. So I call upon you Subaru Gurus once again to give me some advice on how to cool this old girl down. Do I need a new Radiator? Can I flush this one in a differnet manner? Please help before I pop the engine in this thing. I'm going through a divorce and can't afford a new car or engine. Thank You GoatBoy
  17. Anyone got a step by step or best practices or just some plain old shade tree tips for me? GoatBoy
  18. Nope. Not doing a manual swap. Just one auto for another.
  19. According to any repair manuals I have seen they say you need to pull the engine and the transmission together. Now c'mon I know thats not true is it? Anyone have some tips for a fast and easy, relative of course, auto tranny pull and install. just pulling one and putting in another one. Thanks! GoatBoy
