  1. How hard is it to swap the front diff guts out on this Auto Tranny? Is it worth the money I'll save? Or would be a pain and might as well just yank the whole thing and then put in an entire used tranny assembley? I can get a used Tranny for $650 or the Front Diff guts for $250 I just don't know if it is going be more headache than its worth to just swap the Front Diff guts. GoatBoy
  2. To bad your on the opposite coast. Dratz. I would offer her a 5sp DR swap but this is an older lady that just needs to get her car back on the road quick and she don't need to be hot roddin with a 5sp. LOL

  4. Front diff ran dry and stranded a friend of mine in her 1989 GL Sedan. Its at a shop here in Portland but they can't find a tranny for it. Anyone in the Pacific NW, can you help? Its got to be a known good Tranny! Thank you, GoatBoy
  5. Hey GD! Long time no talk. I have similar issues with my Hitachi on my EA82. I see it when I hit a bump pretty hard or a strong corner. And then it bogs and won't run. usually a restart will fix the problem but not always. So if you figure it out let me know beause I think whatever is causing your problem is causing mine too. Laterz --GoatBoy--
  6. Howdy! I just made a post about your email to me. Glad you decide to join up. You'll like it here. People are friendly and very insightful. Welcome. --GoatBoy--
  7. I recieved an email back from the previous high bidder thanking me to no end. He has owned three DLs in the past and wanted another one. The seller originally told him, on the phone, that he was certain it was AWD. It appears he has withdrawn his bid and got similar rude treatment from the seller. Current bid is now $100. Looser! Told them about the USMB and I am sure we will see them around. --GoatBoy--
  8. I see they altered the ad to say there was a mixup. They thought all Subarus were AWD --GoatBoy--
  9. I emailed the high bidder and told them too. --GoatBoy--
  10. After I emailed this guy to tell him his ad was wrong he responded with "Get a Life" I ripped in to him and emailed him again. What a jerk. Told him I was reporting him to eBay for false advertising. --GoatBoy--
  11. I sent him an email telling him that his car is 2wd and not AWD and that he needs to change it. --GoatBoy--
  12. Hill holder is nothing like ABS. ABS senses wheel lock up and releases pressure before the wheel locks so you don't loose traction. Hill Holder holds constant pressure on the brake line so that you don't roll back while starting out on a hill. --GoatBoy--
  13. I was going to suggested that too. The exhaust. Sounds like what happened to my Celica when I curbed it and ripped my exhaust pipe open between the cat and muffler. I didn't loose power or smoke anymore though. Just sounded like a Nascar race truck! --GoatBoy--
  14. I think I found the first thing that I don't like about my Subaru. How are you suppose to get at the oil pan bolts and the rear of the pan?? Mine is leaking but I can't get the pan off to replace the gasket. --GoatBoy--
  15. Yes used a different meter Got a good EGR Solenoid from the JY Tested my Purge Solenoid and it was fine. Cleaned contacts and hooked everything back up. After the Purge Solenoids heats up it shorts though. Will need to be replaced Thanks all for your help --GoatBoy--
  16. What happens if the EGR Solenoid measures at 39 ohms? Is that considered bad? I had read that it needed to test below 32 --GoatBoy--
  17. Wouldn't that make a god awful sound at freeway speeds or turning or any speed at all for that matter?? --GoatBoy--
  18. 85 GL 4wd Wagon won't go anywhere unless its in 4wd. What could be wrong? Not mine, one I might buy. --GoatBoy--
  19. Hmmm. If I turn it on and have not touched the probes together I get a 3.5 Mega Ohm. If Touch them I get a 0 reading and then after touching them I pull them apart and still maintain the 0L reading. My brain hurts! --GoatBoy--
  20. Just ran out to my car and got my Multimeter. Its a Fluke 73. When I touch the probes together it flahses 0L If I hold them apart I get 3.5 M I Just changed the battery in the thing do I have to calibrate it at all? --GoatBoy--
  21. Possibly something is wrong with my Fluke Meter. Dratz --GoatBoy--
  22. GL-10 Wagon Vs. Standard GL Wagon GL-10 has all the bells and whistles right? Can a GL have a digital dash and electric sunroof without being a GL-10? --GoatBoy--
