  1. Your correct it is the raised rib. If it comes down to pulling carpet and other things apart I will just do like my previous post, drive a big rump roast screw in there. --GoatBoy--
  2. It doesn't go down it goes front to back. From what I can tell there is no access to the backside where the nut is. Thats why I hit the board up to see if anyone else has seen this and if they knew an easy fix. I guess I could get a really large machine scew and then just knock the bolt out and thread the big screw through the hole. Cuz I don't think there is anyway to get to that nut on the other side, not with out cutting a big hole in the metal on the back side to open that area up for access. --GoatBoy--
  3. It is the front left, by the door of the drivers seat. Not the one on the tunnel. I'm pretty sure it was a welded nut or a cage nut. I felt it break loose when I was trying to tighten it. --GoatBoy--
  4. I assume the cage nut or welded nut on the inside broke off. Is there anyway to get to it with out cutting a whole in the bottom of the car?? I'm really tired of my seat rocking when I drive. --GoatBoy--
  5. So being that I have a 4wd model then I should stick with my disty I have. --GoatBoy--
  6. Is the top of the window where it is suppose to be? Is it just the back of the window that has the gap? --GoatBoy--
  7. Your local Les Schwab or tire dealer should have them too! --GoatBoy--
  8. So the 2wd disty has a better output? I have an 1985 carbbed EA82 D/R 4x4, could I use a 2wd disty to gain better top end performance? Does the Turbo versus Carb disty make the difference? --GoatBoy--
  9. What are your favorite yards around the PDX area??
  10. Amen to that GD. I am used to big Chevy trucks and SUVs with there gigantic parts. These little ol soobs are toy sized in comparison.
  11. So for off-road traction I would want the LSD not VLSD, right? And what kind of donor car should I be looking for?
  12. What is VLSD? I am unfamiliar with that one. My tranny is a Dual Range 5 speed. What years and models did that 3.9 VLSD come on? --GoatBoy--
  13. Now that you mention it I remember reading that article awhile ago. Forgot all about it until you just mentioned it. Thanks!
  14. Thanks Guys! So what is involved in swapping in an LSD? The whole diff or just the inards? Do I have to go to a 3.7 gear ratio to get LSD? What donor cars should I look for? Or is there aftermarket LSD?
  15. I just bought my first Soob about 2 weeks ago. Looking at the rear diff it has a tag that list the gearing (3.9). How do I tell if it is LSD? Did they make LSD front and back or only back? --GoatBoy--
  16. Yeah. Its less than 50 degrees outside so I don't think I will be running my AC anytime soon. My gauge stays pretty low on the temp anyway. I'll be safe until I can get back to the JY!
  17. Thats about what I figured my Pick-up would be. $300-$400 but it needs a $150 altenator and Battery too. Also a replacement tire and wheel that it lost when it went against the 12 inch curb. Going to be close to a grand to get it back on the road. So it sits awhile longer and I bought a $400 '85 GL D/R 4X4 Wagon instead of fixing the truck. Works out for me. Less Money, better car and the truck was my wife's, she wrecked it and I get to buy a soob out of the deal!!! Sweet huh? -- GoatBoy --
  18. Well, its got two fans. One on the passenger side and one on the driver side with a more traditional shroud around it. Is this a normal setup? This is my first soob so i am unsure of what is considered normal.
  19. My cooling fan, the one on the passenger side of my EA82 Wagon, squeels loudly and rattles a little. Its really bad when its cold out. I haven't really looked at it to much but is there anyway to grease these fans or do I have to find a replacement?? -- GoatBoy --
  20. Just out of curiosity what did the the frame shop charge you for straightening? I have a Dodge Dakota pick-up that needs to be straightened and I am scared of what it will cost. -- GoatBoy
  21. Should advance as manifold vacuum increases. Not retard. That way the spark can ignite the chamber earlier since the pistons are moving faster. -- GoatBoy
  22. Yes. Maybe your oil pump is spewing when it is under pressure. That would cause you symptoms. Or your Oil filter is loose or not sealed properly. -- GoatBoy
  23. It could only be leaking when it is under pressure too. So there would not be any leak under the car after sitting all night if that were true. You could jack up the car and look around for fresh oil under the engine. Maybe spray it off real good first so it would be easier to spot. Drive it 100 miles and then look under it again for any sign of leaks. -- GoatBoy
  24. Well its gotta be going somewhere. Is it going out the tail pipe or on the ground?
