September 6, 200322 yr I believe ea82 turbo cars have them, as well as RXs. The ea82 gl-10s might have them as well....don't quote me on this as i am just going on memory.
September 6, 200322 yr There are no EA81's that came factory with Rear Disc's. In order to get disc's, you need to look at ANY turbocharged EA82 Subaru. They will all have rear disc's. If your car is 2WD, you need to get parts from a Turbo 2WD Subaru. If its 4WD, you need parts from a Turbo 4WD Subaru. Almost every EA82 GL10 will have rear disc's. Along with every RX. -Brian
September 6, 200322 yr some ea82 might have the rear disc as an option, so look at any soob you may come across as parts the ea82 2wd and 4wd uses the same caliper and rotors, but the hubs are different. you can swap 2wd and 4wd hubs between the same rotor the caliper and mounts from 2wd and 4wd will bolt up to any 2 or 4wd ea81 rear suspension. if you have a hard time finding rear discs, ea82 drum brakes, which are slightly larger, will bolt onto an ea81. keep the drum, shoes, and backing plates from ea82 to do the swap
September 6, 200322 yr Slight correction to Brians info.. Almost every EA82 GL10 will have rear disc's In my experience, Only if Turbocharged or specially ordered.. My spfi GL-10 had rear drums. Other SPFI GL-10s I pulled parts from also had rear drums
September 6, 200322 yr Originally posted by TheSubaruJunkie There are no EA81's that came factory with Rear Disc's. -Brian whilst pilfering the wheels off an '83 brat at a junkyard i noticed it had rear discs. i assumed they were stock. you say no?
September 6, 200322 yr Would have been one of the only ones to come from the factory with it. Ive never seen it listed as an option for any Subaru prior to EA82T's. And, the reason I said Almost every GL10, is becuase... almost all of them will, except slight occasions where the SPFI's arent Turbo'd, hence no rear Disc's -Brian
September 6, 200322 yr if you found discs on a brat, it probably came from someone that at least knew something about subarus. just like if you go to the local omni source, you will find my 86 sedan with an ea81 motor!
September 6, 200322 yr WHOOHOO good thing my info was wrong. i was asking a while back and was told that only ea81 stuff will fit. sorry for the bad info. thats great!
