September 8, 200322 yr Hey everyone, was wondering if ya'll could help me out with identifying the vintage of this badge that I found, doesn't look like anything from the 80's or newer, I'm thinking 70's, but how far back? Thanks, Here's a pic of it.
September 8, 200322 yr Gen1 Wagon and Brat. Pre 1978. That is the Subaru Badge you will find on the corner of the hood. My 1979 Wagon did not have it but i have seen plenty of '78s with them. I even have one ive restored (repainted the white and black, chrome is still good) and i turned it into a magnet. -Brian

September 8, 200322 yr yep 1st gen for shure. ive seen that on 77-78, and my pre 76, 76 had a funny wide hood(the raised portion was raised, and so they were a bit differnt. thats cool nice find i love the old subaru stuff.

September 9, 200322 yr my 79 wagon has that badge. Its right there on the hood in the front on the right. So for all of you that think its just to '78, I'm gonna have to put a pic up on the board. Either that or my wagon is special:banana:

September 9, 200322 yr Author I went out and checked it with the one on my 80 Brat, and it's the same one, so it's an EA71 part. Kinda funny, cause the yard that I found it laying in, has ben bare of 84's and older for like 4 years now, so finding it was pretty rare!!!

September 9, 200322 yr man, subarujunkie, thats in BAD shape. But that is what my wagon looks like, same color but without the striping.
September 9, 200322 yr That was my 1st car. And my 1st Subaru. I put that car through hell and back. Here is a picture of it the day after i bought it: It was near perfect except for some surface rust, but ran like a champ. Either had 96,000 or 196,000 on it, single range 4wd. had to sell it after i lost my license. -Brian
