Hello Legacy - Bye Bye Impreza

Featured Replies

As some may recall from my OT post, I was looking for a Baja or a Forester for the increased ground clearance, room, and 5-speed. I found a 2001 Legacy L 5-speed wagon with 50K, drove it, loved it :) The rest is history. So farewell to JF1GC6359SH518456...you were great for our 7 years together and we went to many places together.

Here is a picture of it today...I've had it for a week so far and really enjoy her. The rear seats have been folded down for most of the week to haul my bicycles and work related stuff around. Seems to be well taken care of so I really look forward to the road ahead.

Youre gonna love that Legacy.

Ive been traveling alone alot lately and I was today as a matter of fact. Though not until today did I go, man I really like my Legacy (keeping in mind that this is my 2nd) and cant imagine bein without her...which is good since I dont have the money for a new car anyway.

Lets hope she treats you nicer than the Impreza did (at times).

Watch out for parking it under the carport in the winter ;)

Thanks everyone :)

Brian, I learned my lesson after parking under that roof...NEVER AGAIN hahaha. Don't worry about those rims...I am keeping my eyes open for some (cheap) 00-01 RS takeoffs or some WRX ones. I know it will make it look MUCH better!

Well, today I installed my CD player and the front skid plate from my Impreza. Now I just need to adapt my Thule system to it! Slowly oh so slowly, it is being molded into something cool and functional.

So I have about a year left on the 60,000 powertrain warranty. I do experience clutch shudder quite bad in the morning for the first 4 engagements or such. Is this something that people have had covered under warranty for TSB 03-51-02R ? If yes, at what mileage?

Thanks,

Kevin

I don't know about the mileage, but I had a real issue with the clutch shudder and clutch smell. It was replaced under warantee and about 5,000 miles and again, when they revised the clutch plate material, as the first changeout did not accomplish anything.

The clutch plate composition was revised about 18-24 months ago and is a huge improvement. No judder, no smell.

I'm pretty sure you'll qualify up to 60k miles.

Car is going great...I have put almost 5,000 miles on it so far and personalized it quite a bit. Just a quick question for everyone though....

I know the picture isn't working, but I will fix that later :) The color is a very gray/green but not the lighter green that is on so many outbacks. If you can picture that, how do you think 98 RS Golds would look on it? Personally, I know it would look different, but most definately not as horrid as say a Pontiac Aztek:brow:

Picture to follow later, thanks!

Here is a picture of it when I first got it. I know silver wheels would look fine, but I am just really unsure of gold. The two sets of rims I am looking at are 2003 WRX rims and 98 RS golds. Thanks, have a great day everyone!
