TurboSPFI
Just wondering what I should do as far as a spindle when I pull a rear CV out of a welded diff?
MorganM
Rear axles have two DOJ's; no CVs in the rear. No worries about any spindles
TurboSPFI
DOJ meaning female on both sides and not just the inner? pic?
Numbchux
go climb under the back of the car, you'll see, there's a springpin on both ends at the joint. jack up the car to allow for enough play to pull out the axle, pound out the springpins and pull the axle off the stubs. you don't even need to take the wheel off. calebz
Torch and a hammer
MorganM
PB blaster + BFH + 1" chizel usuall gets them off. As Calebz noted; the real tough buggers require a torch and BFH. Be carefull not to smoke the rear diff or your bearings! Use greast on all splines once you get them off. This should prevent the problem in the future.
