My cars haunted !

Featured Replies

Today on the way home from work i hit a bump and my alt gauge went all the way up and my oil gauge went to 85.(1986 ea82 gl 4x4 wagon) Hit another bump and then it went back to normal but then for no reason my windsheild wipers came on high and i know the switch was off! looked at positive termanal on bat and it had a lot of gunk around it so i started the car wiggled the wire and it repeated what it did when i hit the bump. So i cleaned the gunk and tried it again this time everything was ok so i figured it was the gunk on the positive. But why did the winshield wipers come on when the switch was off? BOOOOOO!

If you're wipers come on again, i would change the relay/control thing. Bad one of them can cause havoc - on my old ea81 wagon, i would be driving along the road, the wipers would turn on and the ignition would die, over and over again. Rather hilarious.

Once after i had finished re installing the dash in the same car, while driving all of a sudden the temp gauge went up past red, the oil pressure did the same, the fuel gauge went to about 3/4 (up from about 0), the heater fan control turned into the wiper control, the wiper control turned the heater fan on full...... plus a whole lot of other wierd things. After turning the car off for 5 mins, all was back to normal. That was a couple of years ago now, never had anything like it happen since. Think mines haunted too?

I was headed to work one day with 6 gallons of oil in the back in a garbage bag to recycle at work. I pull into a grocery store to buy a gatorade. Back out of the parking space... and as soon as I stop it feels like somebody shoves the back of my car and it "waddles". Pull up to the main road, does it again, this time it does it AFTER I have already come to a complete stop. Ok, now I'm scared. Maybe it's an earthquake? Start driving down the road, starts doing it again while I'm moving. I pull into a neighborhood and check all 4 tires, the underside of the car, and the back. In the back, there was a gallon of oil that look like it had just spilled because the puddle was very small. I don't think it was from the shaking because the shaking wasn't THAT bad... just very very obvious. The freakiest thing is... it didn't do it AT ALL for the rest of the 7 miles to work. As a matter of fact, it hasn't done it or anything similar to it since. WIERD.

My old Ea81 Subes digital dash shut off twice while i owned it. The fix was to hit our steep driveway in reverse with a little speed and everything came back on.

Not sure if having a valve cover bolt fall off with no warning and loosing all my oil in less than a block counts as haunted but its a try. Probably has to do with bad luck more than anything else.
