September 17, 200322 yr Finally got my engine running again...BIG THANKS to John in Eugene....The Subaru King! This would not have happened without his help....well definatly not as soon or with such good results. Thank you very much John.... I got the engine stuffed into the little hatch....it picks up and MOVES! I still have some minor things to work through, but that stuff will be pretty easy. The next big thing on my plate is going to be the lift and tires. And i think that is going to happen real soon. Hopefully before the snow falls.... Anyway, im going to go play with the hatch some more.... *edit* I forgot to mention that i can break traction at all sides with the car in 4 low....on dry pavment....I love this engine
September 17, 200322 yr what engine did you put in it? Burnouts are fun, but i woulndt reccomend doing them on drypavement in 4-lo:burnout: Sounds like itll be an awesome ride!! Keep at it
September 17, 200322 yr Author It is one of those CCR engines. I bought it from Mudrat79(john). It came out of the Beast, his hatchback. It is a sick engine, lots of power. I know it isn't good for it to burn out in 4 low, but i just had to test it out.....
September 17, 200322 yr most vehicles will spin them in 4low.. gear reductions and all, but whats special about CCR motors? high comp. cam? is it an ea81?
September 17, 200322 yr Author yes yes and yes EA81 Brat cam, 1600 cc pistons, milled heads, webber carb...i know i am forgetting something....but yea, that is about the just of it. I have yet to ride in or drive an ea81 with more punch than this one carries. I can't wait until the ea81T is in the driveway, it should be a good comparison....
September 17, 200322 yr more compression has to help alot with power and mileage, the 81brat cam is bigger? sounds fun
September 17, 200322 yr I think john said the engine has 110 HP or something... thats only 5 shy of an EA82T Brat cams = more torque as far as I understand
September 18, 200322 yr 5 shy of a stock, no mod ea82t... but that would rock in an ea81. my 4x brat always seemed faster than my new 2x hatch
