Building Engine

Recommended Posts

If this combo is too outragous what are some combo's that use a carb, maybe can do away with the turbo. I just want to get away from the fuel injection, too many things to go wrong on the trails, plus my suby electrical experiences have been a nightmare. I would also like to add a small Holly for a quick power boost. What are some engines you guys use and how happy are you with them. I want to push 120- 130ish HP. What are some good ways to keep compression low but get a slight increase in HP?

There are carburated EA82's. They use a 2bbl hitachi, almost the same as the 2bbl hitachi's found on EA81's, withonly slight differences.

There was never a carburated turbo Subaru. The real trouble is finding a turbo you can use, were you planning to have it suck through or blow through the carb?

the ea81 will fit just drill your flywheel holes out for the ea82 bolts and tour current flywheel

the hill holdere will have to be repocated, bent out of the way pretty much

install the motor first, then the distributor so you can celar the master cylinder

the ea81 pitch bar bracket will swap onto ea82

ea81/ea82 intakes are interchangeable. go with the ea82's

there was a carb & turbo on a subaru, but is was far from factory.

Do a search on quattro san, it was an ea81 hatch that a university modified.

Im sure that there is somebody out there who knows more about it than me
