1997 Legacy overheating problem

Featured Replies

I'm having problems with overheating on my 97 Legacy 2.5 GT. When I'm driving at low speeds, the car heats up. When I'm on the highway, the thermostat reads a cooler temperature. I've already had the water pump and thermostat replaced, so I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any ideas?

Are the electric cooling fans coming on? Thats a typical sympton of a failed cooling fan switch .

You may just need to take the radiator out and wash the fins. Mine was overheating and I took it out and carried it to a Radiator shop. they told me after they cleaned it that it only needed the outside cleaned. It ran fine after this.
