VIN check

Featured Replies

Could someone run a VIN check for me please? Thank you in advance.

I dont know if they do this anymore but if you just call corporate Subaru customer service and give them the vin they can give you info on service records and mileage if the car was ever serviced at a dealership. They can also tell you how many titles have passed at times. Of course a carfax vin check is much more thorough and in detail.

Here's your rundown (according to Subaru Vin Decoder)

4s3 SIA (not FHI) Passenger Vehicle

b Legacy

g Outback Wagon

4 2.2L engine

8 Outback / Sus

5 Manual Seatbelts w Airbags

3 Check Digit (no value to decode)

t MY1995

6 SIA built AWD MT5

374891 Legacy Station Wagon Type s/n

Thanks for all of the input. I have been looking all over for a '96 outback with a 5 speed, and most importantly the 2.2L engine.

I have one that you can have if you take over the payments :-P

Hope this helps,

Lauren

p.s. if anyone else wants vin lookup info, I'd be glad to do the same so long as I still have my 30 day membership, for about the next 3 weeks or so.

Lauren, very kind offer. i already bought the car, but it would be cool to know more about it:

Glad to help. I figure my 30 day unlimited acct. is going to waste now that I'm not car shopping anymore, so I might as well share. :)

Lauren

Thank you, basically, everything she told me about the car (one mnor front accident). I guess there is a recall I can take it in for, front spring covers?

If this works for canadian Subarus, I would'nt mind knowing more about my car. Hope i'm not abusing.

Lauren- If that offer is still open: 4S3BG68SXV6637361. The tag also says that it is model BGCY4F and the option code is U10W. Thanks!

It's no problem for me, and I doubt it's a problem for carfax... I paid for a 30 day unlimited pass that's going to waste otherwise. :)

When I copy/paste those numbers in it says:

" The VIN you entered: 4S3BG68SXV6637361 is invalid.

However the VIN you entered is very close to those listed below.

4S3BG685XV6637361 1997 SUBARU/LEGACY OUTBK/LIMITED/2.5L H4 PFI DOHC 16V

(Substituted: 5 in position 8)"

... and a copy of the carfax for that vin is here:
