Looking for rising suspension or aftermarket kits

Featured Replies

Hi all:

I have a 1990 legacy wagon, I would like to know what I need to do to put bigger tires on plus rise car up.

With the prise of gas going up and me driving 100 miles a day. taller tires sould give me afew more MGP. I know the taller the tires the less power on take off, but I dont even know were to start in moding the suspension.

Any help, would greatly help me out, Thanks Paparaz

unfortunately, I don't have any specific help, but I can point you in the right direction.

first off, here, your legacy is in the newer generation....

second, for raising it, check out the off road forum for lots of info regarding that, check out the FAQ link at the top for some info, than search around for more, you're not the only one with these questions!

"rising" the suspension and putting on taller tires isn't going to do much for mileage.

I hear civics get great economy, though.

use outback struts with legacy tops and you'll get a little taller. it will also allow you to run a much taller tire of your choice...

OOP, missed the before 1990 in the older generation box, and thanks for the info. Paparaz

If you want better gas mileage, what you have to do is *lower* the suspension, and pump up the tires with more air. Smaller tires would also help, but they'd move your gearing in the wrong direction.

There's room for a teeny bit of underbody aero improvement, but realistically, that's not worth pursuing.

Then there's weight reduction. If you never use the rear seats, and there's a lot of red lights or hills on your way to work, lose them and the rear floor mats.

The 4WD setup weighs a bit, but if you're thinking that FWD is okay, get a '90 Civic. <img>
