hey what's up! haven't posted in a while so i have to do it now. okay so my suby has been sitting for a while in the garage due to an oil leak. so i drove it out and warmed it up and when i took it for a spin around the court i turned the steering wheel sharply it would go rrrrrrrr. i want to know if its my power steering or something. any how i'm kinda worried about that.

Check your PS fluid levels. Thats the sound the pump makes when levels are low or the pump is crapping out.

Use Dexron to fill it up

aw you just scared me man. but wait how can it crap out (the pump) if the car hasn't been driven for awhile. now i think it might be low fluid. more imput welcome from you guys. thanks Caleb!

it wouldnt really be the pump going out, but the seal might go cause of lack of use. i had to get a new rack cause of that. i noticed a bit of dripping under the car, looked at the rack boot, poked it and got a oil bath. the seals had blown out from sitting un used for so long. granted, my car sa for a long time before that.

Why wouldn't it be the pump going out. Its not a real long stretch of the imagination that an old car thats been sitting may develop a bad pump. I replaced the one on my wagon for that exact reason. Surprise surprise, the noise went away.

it very well might be the pump, but mine made the same noise till i replaced the rack. well, actually, it went away once i got fluid to stay in the system, the rack was leaking bad enough that i couldnt keep it full....

just check your fluid.
