Need Oil Pump Help Badly!!!

Featured Replies

Tryiing to get the oil pump off my ea81 took out all the bolt and its still stuck i dont know what drive the dang thing anyone got any info on how to get the s.o.b. out??

i had to pry mine out and broke the inner part off ,had to replace the oil pump , 82 bucks

How many bolts did you take out? My Hayne's says there are 3, but there are really 4. The fourth bolt is hiding behind the crank pully, and is a little tricky. As soon as I took it out my oil pump fell off. Good luck!

Put the oil filter back on and use it as a lever to rock the pump off. Simply twist the pump in the block by pushing the filter up and down. then when it starts turning easily pull the pump away from the block.

It is VERY easy to crack the pumps inner layer.

Well like everyone warned me about i cracked the inner layer of the pump :banghead: ...... but i found one and got it ordered for monday for 32 bucks so o'well, thanks for all your help guys!!!

Oil pressure is VERY important to these engines, and if you value your rod bearings you'll use nothing but an OEM replacement for the oil pump. Dealer is expensive, but the OEM part can be found from discount houses. Under NO circumstances should you consider an aftermarket for the oil pump on a subaru.
