Featured Replies

I go off to oregon for a week, come back and the low beams are dead on the turbowagon, had to drive to school today with the brights on and hope I didnt' get pulled over... Any ideas?? The bulbs are brand new so it shouldnt' be those, but I'll try swapping in the old ones that worked fine and see if that works...

And the fuses..... those new bulbs higher wattage by chance??

Try it one step at a time. Both out are unusual, check the contacts make sure they are clean, replace the pigtails if you have too. I had that on my 84, when one bulb blew i replaced them both. The ahd been sitting in the car for so long, the movement of connecting/discconect broke the pigtail corrosion...

Sounds like the relay for the low beams went bad. This happened on my '82 GL wagon, and the low beams wouldn't work till it warmed up... then their relay would finally kick on.

turns out it was the bulbs! This morning I plugged in one of the old bulbs, worked fine, so I pulled the rice blue bulbs out and put the old ones in. Funny thing is, they weren't the super-cheap bulbs that are really obviously blue light, these looked like relatively expensive bulbs, but they were free (but they appeared unused) oh well, I'm gonna drag out the ohmmeter and test 'em just to make sure it's the bulb buut I'm pretty sure it is....

Oh well, better to have free crap bulbs than expensive crap bulbs...
