Blew a tire - need to replace all four?

Featured Replies

One of my back tires blew out this morning. Big gash on the inside wall.

I know that replacing one tire is bad for something like a 4X4 pickup, but what about an AWD Sube?

Any problem replacing just the one tire? Maybe just two? Others are only about halfway into their tread life.

EDIT: ( it's 93 Legacy with manual trans. )

Replace 4. Lots of discussion on it in the past threads.

One option is to match the tire brand, model, size, and have it shaved to the same wear circumferance (+/- 1/4") as the other three. Only practical if the rest of the tires are pretty new, otherwise, don't bother.

Don't skimp here, you will trash the AWD.

What brand and size tire do you need? This is a long shot but I have several good used tires that I pulled from Subaru's but can't use because I don't have sets of four. Or if I don't have a match, maybe some other pack rat here has one.
