September 28, 200322 yr The hitachi carb on my car has some issues (of course it does, it's a hitachi carb). How expensive and difficult is it to rebuild this carburetor?
September 28, 200322 yr Pretty easy. Box it up and send it to Kerry at Roobuilders. Find him via http://www.ccrengines.com. Free plug
September 28, 200322 yr Your better off getting someone with more experience to do this for you, so if it stuff's up once installed again send it back =) Work out cheaper in the long run.. clint.
September 28, 200322 yr I'll second ShawnW and Ruby's recommendation. I have a carb from CCR/Roobuilders on my wagon. It came with a diagram for all those hoses, and Kerry (a great guy) at the other end of the phone if there are any questions.
September 28, 200322 yr Ball park figure on what it would cost? May have mine done after the Weber's on the "82 so I can use it on the '86.......
September 29, 200322 yr Author I don't mean sending it off to have it rebuilt. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I want to buy a rebuild kit and do it myself with the assistance of one of my automotive professors at the university.
September 29, 200322 yr It's not too bad. I did one with the help of my father. The rebuild kit I got was from Beck Arnley and came with everything I needed. It basically replaces all the internals except the float. I think the only really hard part was setting the float. Keith
