ea82t distributor

Featured Replies

hi, i just wondered if the distributor is the same on a 86 xt turbo, as on my 88 leone turbo. Mine doesn't work, and the local subaru-dealer wants 900$ for a new.

Laffy

The distys may be compatable. I would be checking the the type of ignition setup each has. You should be able to find used disty at a salvage yard or a rebuilt one from a parts supplier for a lot less than new if they don't swap directly.

Check RockAuto on the web. They have good prices but better yet they have a parts cataloge that will allow you to cross check part numbers.

i have the disty off my 85 rx ea82t turbo if you want it

Ummmm. Maybe this is a stupid question, but doesn't one have 6 cylinders, and the other only has four? Even if you swapped caps on them, the little crank angle sensor plate would be confused because of it's pattern with 6 or 4 sectors would be wrong. Or am I missing something?

Or am I missing something?

Definitely

AN XT has 4 cyniders

A GL has 4 cylinders

An XT6 however, has .. you guessed it.. 6 cylinders

I told you it was a stupid question.....:) I saw the XT and assumed it was an XT6...

This happened to me also. I had the six in mind when I first saw the post and thought the same thing until I did a seach and found out about the regular XT.
