Are EA71 and EA81 rear brake adjusters the same?

Featured Replies

I need a rear brake adjuster.......you knew that.......and was wondering just how stupid of a look the kid at Advanced Auto or similar is going to give me when I ask for a rear brake adjuster for a 1978 Subaru 4WD wagon.

While we're at it,are the EA82's the same as well?

Thanks

A quick search and I'm coming up with NOTHING available from the online idiot stores.I was unable to get the Subaru parts dot com folks,"cannot find server"...any ideas?

Paul.......yes. The entire back brake assembly is the same.

(Except if the owner has gall-stones, then the back brakes are VERY different and impossible to repair!) LOL!!!!:lol:inside joke

So far,so good.......no gall stones.

As for the brake adjuster,I took it in the house and with my Gigantor channel locks held it over the stove and loosened it up.

Auto Zone was absolutely no help either.I stopped by tonight for some PB Blaster and just to see if they had any adjuster at all. They didn't even show an adjuster and the guy checked all over the computer.Amazing!
