November 27, 200520 yr Hello all, I have a 92' Legacy SS Upgraded to boost etc. I have had it about 8 months and have enjoyed it. As of late though it started to feel a little gutless,,,now it is starting to lurch when i take off in any gear. Its hard to explain but the car surges then lets off surges lets off and jerks around....Any ideas???? I was pondering a fuel filter or a TPS any ideas?? November 29, 200520 yr Author ive really only been driving on a flat...what it feels like is someone who doesnt know how to drive a clutch and it lurches back and forth...but the clutch is newish and feels fine...and it feels sluggish... Cory
November 29, 200520 yr I would look at all the regular stuff ie. fuel filter, air filter, PCV valve, plugs, wires. If I had to take a guess I might say the fuel filter or PCV valve. Is the "CEL" on? Maybe take a look at the spark plugs, see if it is running lean, rich or whatever. Beezer
November 29, 200520 yr When you get it going, does the turbo spool up evenly? What boost level are you running?
November 30, 200520 yr Author turbo spins up evenly and works great....im at stock boost right now still Sounds like i should take a look at the plugs....any recommendations for plugs in the turbo?? i use bosch platinum 2's in my impreza but....?
November 30, 200520 yr Most people here recomend NGK's. Probably a good time for all the tune up stuff if it needs it. Good Luck! Hope it is an easy fix Beezer
November 30, 200520 yr I would definately start with plugs and wires... NGK plugs for sure and maybe a nice set of 8mm wires if you can find them. (Had a 98 GT NA that did what sounds like you are describing and plugs and wires fixed it right up.)
