pdxsuby
I'm getting a clicking sound ONLY when I turn left and the car is cold. It sounds like a cv joint going bad. It sounds like it is coming from the front left tire area. Any ideas. Thank you to all that respond, John

Novakaine
I second the CV/axel... I replaced my front left one at about 120k. There was no sound, my mechanic noticed it was torn so i told him to replace it. Avish
pdxsuby
However, I cannot find a tear in any of the two, left cv boots. Was yours internal. I mean, something wrong with the gears under the boots. What did you have replaced exactly? The boot or something else? THanks, John I second the CV/axel... nipper
these things are under a lot of stress, and just wear out soetimes. You sont need a torn boot for it to happen. nipper
_Aramchek_
how many miles you two ? nipper I'm at 191k miles,my clicking sound is definately coming from the general area of the wheel itself and usually only happens when I'm turning. nipper
191K (miles?) well thats a good long time for a cv joint, you got a good life out of that axle, time for a new one. nipper
outback_97
Hey John How's it going? Just to rule this out: Does the sound go away when you depress the brake pedal slightly? I had a loose brake pad that was making a clicking sound when turning, I knew it was something in the brakes because as soon as I pressed the brake pedal, the contact with the rotor would stop the pad from knocking around and clicking. Worth a try just to rule that out. Steve
