wheel well plastic

Featured Replies

the black wheel well plastic on my 97obw somehow came off when i was offroading..sheet metal is exposed but roads arent salted here, was this plastic thing important???

keeps all the mud and dirt and road salt fro the inside of the fender, may also allow for sound deadening

Eh, mine fell off, and austin cut his off... we actually had a conversation about this exact thing today... went something like:

(20:03:55) Me: hey austin, you trimmed your fenders... what'd you do with that piece of plastic that goes around the fender well... that keeps crap out of the door hinges...

(20:04:05) Austin: heh

(20:04:14) Austin: well

(20:04:16) Me: lemme guess.. nothing :-p

(20:04:19) Austin: theres a lot of crap in my doors

(20:04:22) Austin:

(20:04:23) Me: ahhhh

(20:04:25) Me: very good

fender liners protect your wiring/wiring harnesses from the elements.

if you are worried about it? get a replacement.

i keep them installed, even on my race car.

Looks like racing to me! I think you should say you are sorry! If you are nice the lady can probably get you an inner fender for a good price.

looks like my kind of sunday drive :brow: .......

when i first picked up my legacy,it didn't have the liners but still put em in cause of the exposed wires for airbag sensors.

oh they're there...

up in the upper front corners of the fender area....

on the drivers side you have the main wiring harnesss tucked up there as well

pass side is not as critical, but it's a good idea to protect the wiring.

ill be notified if something shorts or sumtin right?? my airbags wont just not go off will they?

no no no your airbags should not have a chance of deploying

unless something hits that sensor

and it's tucked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up in the fender.

when i said exposed,i meant exposed wiring harnesses that lead to the headlights, corner lights and airbag sensors.
