xt needs radiator. Will GL radiator fir?

Featured Replies

The title says it. My old trusty XT radiator is getting weepy.

Local guy has lots of GL parts.

Am I lucky enough that the GL rad will fit??

tnx

Maybe. Check the pin locations at the bottom of the radiator and the mounting holes at the top. But first just compare widths.

No, it will not. The GL radiator is several inches too tall.

shall we fire up the :horse:

they are the same

if you want double row, buy one for a USA automatic transmission

I tried putting a GL radiator in an XT I had a few years ago, and it wouldn't fit under the core support. Too tall.

Better yet, measure the height of yours, then run up to the yard and measure theirs. If they actually are the same size, then there must have been something else I did wrong.

Anyone got either an XT or GL radiator laying around that they can measure? I'd measure the one in the RX, but it's pitch black out and dumping snow right now. If nobody has any measurements by tomorrow, I'll measure mine when it's light out and post the numbers.

Tnx for all the inputs folks.

I will call guy up north and have him measure his radiator vs mine.

Got a bad feeling going to have to pull mine out and take to shop. That means being with out ride for day or 2. Oh well.
