calebz
There was a guy.. board name DinoSmash2000, that made little electronic bypass boxes for just that purpose... Yo dino.. you here under a new name ?
Meeky Moose
so how do ya bypass it on an 86 turbo wagon?
Scrub2k
Pre 87: Look between the air filter box and the strut top. There are two round plastic solenoids (one over the over), ea with one vac line plugging into them. The top one is the boost control sol......do not mess with that one. Bottom one is the boost cut sol. Just pull off the short vac line goining into it, and cap it or screw a bolt into it. Done. careful going over 10 psi if it isent intercooled Now can someone Help me With 87 and up??????
Meeky Moose
alright tried pullin the vac. line off the bottom one and pluggin it... still only gettin about 8psi :/
calebz
Moose.. you still have to turn the boost up.. what you did only stops the fuel cutoff from triggering at 9psi

Skip
Yes, I have tried Dino's fix. It is a zehner diode strapped across the signal wire to the ECU from the MAF. I connected my dash mounted 0-scope to watch the signal and the injector pulse width. I had watched these parameters before. With the zehner in place both the signal in and the injector output were strange. I disconnected it fearing it may do permanant damage. Possibly the reverse impedance was not high enough? The theory here is you want to leave the signal alone until it reaches the critical voltage, then clamp it at that level. I have parts on order with Jameco to try a more sophisticated FCD.This one uses op-amps to form an active voltage clamp. Will report and may offer it as a solution once I am comfortable with it's use. Feel free to do a search for voltage clamping circuits. I'm pulling fer ya cause we are all in this together.
