BRAKE, ABS and BATTERY lights - ALL ON???

Featured Replies

Hello All,

I was doing some go-fast stuff tonight ~ 7k in 1st and 2nd, and after successfully defending Subaru's honor, I now have those three lights staying on. Everything seems to run fine, maybe a little high idle. I let it sit for two hours and started and stopped a few times, but the lights stay on.

What happened? I am thinking I spun the alternator too fast and crippled it?

I will disconnect the battery for a while tomorrow to see if it clears.

Anyone with similar symptoms? or suggestions?

Thanks in advance. r/ PK

p.s. It's my 1993 Legacy SS 5 speed.

alternator sounds like it has issues. have it tested.

check connections at the alternator first, if the engine was reving high, maybe it torqued enough to jolt them? check battery and terminals while yo'ure at it but alt is where my money is.

Alternator is bad. For sure.

Mind did this and I know many more who report the same. Odd that all those lights come on, but it's a definate.

Altenator was probably on its way out and you just rushed things along.

Two weeks ago I had the same thing happen in my 96. I was confused by the brake light coming on, but then I remembered what the Loyales do. When an alternator in a Loyale goes every warning light comes on.
