February 16, 200620 yr are they real great 4x4s? ive found ALOT of them in craigslist (early ones) for CHEAP... justr wondering... mostly for beach and light trails... and some jumps everyonce in a while...
February 16, 200620 yr for "light" offroading they're fine. maybe check out what some of the other members on the board have been doing with them???
February 16, 200620 yr you can bash them through a lot of things, just have to keep momentum up. Getting stuck with one wheel in the are is likely, the center diff can only transmit so much power to the other wheels.
February 17, 200620 yr Author would putting a transfer case from a better 4 wheel drive system be better (such as nissan or toyota)? we found one on craigslist in austin... they have a corrola and legacy (legacy needs alil work... oil leak, cv boot lil stuff.) for 1000... that way me and my sis can have a car for each of us...
February 17, 200620 yr swapping in a tcase takes alot of fabrication, even on a true 4WD older gen soob but, the center diff is viscous, and quite so. so it's pretty hard to have one wheel spinning free (you have to be VERY stuck!) the biggest disadvantage is the lack of lo range. makes it hard to do steep hillclimbs and such. but the added low end torque of the EJ motor makes up for much of that. but yea, they make pretty good wheelers, check out what some other members have been doing with their EJ series cars
February 17, 200620 yr jumps...i dont think soYeah, doesn't sound very "light" if you're planning on jumping it, man.
February 17, 200620 yr Author id propbably pull some weight off of it, than get a lift (aa is the only one i could find for it) and jump it from there.... probalbly not real often, but enough to say i jump it...
February 17, 200620 yr Author i actually just found a loyal on craigslst in dallas for 450... i dont have that money right now, but its good to know there is stuff in my are (i.e. state)
