Anyone have a clue as to why it wont go into reverse? What to look for, etc?

Does reverse just not work, or will the gear selector not move into reverse?

As I havent looked at the car yet, I assume (from what I was told) that the selector does move, its just the car that doesnt.

You could try changing the fluid, but the trans/valve body probably needs to be rebuilt

Does the car have any forward gears without slipping, especially second gear.

But i do agree its time for a replacement.

From what the lady said, it moves fine forward. I still havent had a chance to look at the car.
