October 19, 200322 yr Well.... I jusr replaced the turbo on my 88 gl10 wagon (the one I decided not to sell) it was squealing and the whole bit..... Got one with 40k miles on it for $130 anyway.... I still am using a lot of oil! Like 1 quart every tank fillup! I don't see any smoke.. Is dosent leak..... Sooo what the heck!? Any thoughts?
October 19, 200322 yr I'd blame baccaruda. He messes everything up. I really have no clue what might cause this, I just can't miss a chance to pickon Andy.
October 19, 200322 yr check your PCV valve. If its bad, it could be stuck open and you'll be sucking oil into your intake.
October 20, 200322 yr skeet's being mean again! check the oil return line under the turbo? maybe a clamp is loose. take your car to a carwash with HOT water and clean all that nast crap out of there, so you can see where it's coming from when it leaks.
October 20, 200322 yr Skeet, go to your room, no Internet for you tonight! (LOL) as for the oil leak, the DIY carwash place and spray the bejebus outta the engine bay is a wise choise.
October 20, 200322 yr Dont let the people that run the carwash see you, they flipped on me when I sprayed the engine. They don't like oil washed into their drains or on their concrete.
October 20, 200322 yr thats pretty daggone hypocritical of them when the dial has a selector for "engine washing" they do have a sign up that says: Do not wash list: Livestock trailers open engine or transmission cases Tankers (inside the tank) Dumpbed trucks (the dumpbeds) cement mixers farm equipment construction buckets on heavy equipment asphault trucks or trailers chemical transports so yeah i use it for washing off the underside of the car reguallarly. That and on retunrs from the winter trips up north I bring ramps for washing the salt off the car.
