rotorque Posted April 9, 2006 Share Posted April 9, 2006 Just a quick wiring question, Does the ECU ground the pin for the main fan when the temperature reaches the set point or does it actualy feed power out of the ECU to ground? Skip Posted April 9, 2006 Share Posted April 9, 2006 ROTO, sure would be EZ'r to answer if we knew which car's ECU you were askin' about - don't you think? Re gaurd less it is doubtful an ECU would power a rad fan directly, currents of this magnitude are handled by relays. 4 in stance, in the early model Legacy's, the ECU drops ground potential on the main fan's relay's coil via pin d17. nipper Posted April 9, 2006 Share Posted April 9, 2006 In general the ECU (or any mystery box) powers nothing directly that has any real current draw.
